Tomato Chutney – From the kitchen of Prema Badiga

Tomato Chutney
Ingredients

  • 250 grams of tomatoes
  • For Seasoning :

  • 1 tsp urad dal / black gram dal
  • 1 tsp chana dal / Bengal gram
  • 1 tspDhaniya / Coriander seeds
  • 50 grams imli / tamarind and salt
  • 4 Green chillies
  • 8 cloves of garlic
  • 100 grams ginger
  • 2 onions
  • 4 twigs of curry leaves
  • 1 bunch of coriander leaves
  • Method

  • Wash, cut and cook the tomatoes till the skin separate’s.

  • Heat the oil, roast urad dal and chana dal, then add cut green chilly, garlic cloves, ginger, onion, curry leaves, coriander leaves and imli then cook for a minute.

  • Add the tomatoes and the seasoning and grind it coarsely. Add salt before serving.
