Thotakura Pappu…Khatti Daal…from the kitchen of Pinky Reddy

To serve 6

Ingredients:
1cup…Toor Daal
250 grams …saag/ amaranths leaves
1 …small raw mango
1/4 tsp…Haldi powder
1 tbsp… grated Jaggery
1tsp…chillies powder

For Baghar:
2 tbsp….oil
2 to 3…dried red chillies
1 tsp…Jeera
1 pinch….Hing powder
1 tsp….finely chopped Ginger
1tsp….crushed Garlic
1 …medium Tomato
1….finely cut onion

How to make:

Wash the Daal…add cut and washed saag ang peeled and cut raw mango…..mixe a little water… 1/4 tsp Haldi & 1 tsp salt and pressure cook till 3 whistle

Baghar:

Heat the oil …put dry chillies, Jeera seeds,Hing,Ginger & garlic, cut onion and diced tomato…cook till the aroma starts coming…add chillie powder, grated jaggery, salt to taste….cook for a few more minutes.

To this baghaar add a little Daal …mix well…pour this to the remaining Daal.

Enjoy this with hot steaming Rice
