Taahiri

Taahiri from the kitchen of Veena Modi

To Serve 6 People

Ingredients:

1 Cup Basmati Rice

100gms Peas

100gms Carrots

100gms Cauliflower

100gms Beans

1 tbsp Ghee

2 bey leaves

1 Pinch of Turmeric powder

Salt to taste

Method:

Nicely wash and soak the rice for 1hr

Cut Cauliflower, Carrots and Beans in to half inch pieces

If peas are very tender then we use them raw otherwise boil the peas

In a vessel heat the ghee put the bey leaves then add the vegetables

Add the rice, put turmeric powder, salt and add 2 cup full of warm water

cover it with the lid and cook it in the slow flame, till the rice becomes soft

Note: You can make this dish in a flame proof transparent borosil bowl with the lid. This way you can serve directly and the Taahiri remains hot.

You should serve this along with Mangochi
