To serve 6 people

Ingredients

  • 1 kg sarsoon ka saag
  • 250gm palak/spinach
  • 100gms bathua
  • 50gms sua patti/dil
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1 fistful of Makkai ka Aata
  • 1 tbsp wheat flour
  • 1 small pc of gur/jaggery
  • Salt to taste
  • For Baghaar:

  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tbsp Finely chopped ginger
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 green chilli
  • 1tsp red chilli powder
  • Method

  • Wash all the 4 types of leaves well.

  • Remove the stems and very finely chop all the leaves.

  • Finely chop the green chilies.

  • Put them in a vessel and slow cook the leaves in some water for over 2 hours.

  • Then mix the makkai Aata, wheat flour, gur and salt and cook for a little more time.

  • Heat the ghee, put finely chopped ginger, garlic, green chili and lastly add red chili powder and pour the cooked saag in it.

  • Serve it with makkai ki roti.

  • 3 cups of makkai ka Aata
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • Just before making the roti, make the dough using warm water.

    Please serve gur and homemade butter along with this.
