Rava Dosa

Rava Dosa – From the kitchen of Pinky Reddy

Serves 6 people

Rava Dosa
Ingredients

  • 100 grams Bombay rava/ Semolina (sooji)

  • 100 grams rice powder

  • ½ tsp flour/maida

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 4-5 cups of water

  • ¼th cup of ghee and oil mix

  • 2 green chillies finely cut

  • 1 cut onion

  • 1 piece ginger

  • Method

  • Mix semolina, rice flour and maida with 4-5 cups of water. The batter should have thin pouring consistency, set aside for 10 minutes.

  • Add salt, curry leaves, green chillies,ginger and cumin seeds to the batter and mix well.

  • Heat the oil on a griddle / tava. Sprinkle water, pour the batter outside first and then inside.

  • Put oil after a minute on top. You can add some cut onions and green chillies on top and press. Then again put oil, fold it and remove.

  • Note:If you want to make Rava Dosa with your regular Dosa batter:

    Ingredients

  • 200 grams of Bombay rava

  • 2 tsps full of dosa batter

  • 1 finely cut onions

  • 2 finely cut green chillies

  • 1 tspcumin seeds / jeera

  • 20 finely cut curry leaves

  • 2 tsp of chopped coriander leaves

  • Method

  • Mix well and add 2 cups of water.

  • Heat the griddle / tava, pour the batter on the griddle / tava and rotate the griddle / tava.

  • Mix cut coriander leaves, jeera, cut onions and curry leaves.

  • Sprinkle 1 tsp of this mixture on the dosa.Pour little oil, flip and cook.
