Mustard Pulihara from the kitchen of Prema Badiga

To serve 4

Ingredients
1 katori / cup sona masoori rice – soaked and cooked
1 tabsp imli (tamarind) soaked in little water
1 tabsp gur (jaggery)
1/4 tsp haldi (turmeric powder)
Salt as per taste
1 tabsp sarson / Moti rai powder

How to cook
Extract the juice of the imli and add jaggery powder.
Mix well (run in the mixey)
Strain it and add the haldi, salt and saroon powder.
Cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add to the rice.

Baghaar
Ingredients

2 tab sp sarson ka tel (mustard oil)
1/2 tsp urad dal
1 tsp rai
3-4 dry red chilli
2 tabsp roasted peanuts
Kanju (cashew nuts)

How to cook
Heat the oil
Add the urad dal, rai (it will crackle), red chillies, peanuts and cashew nuts.
Mix the baghaar in the rice
Ready to serve
