Korma – From the kitchen of Kala Karthikeyan

Recipe for 24 normal size idlis

Korma
Ingredients

  • 200 grams potato
  • 1 medium sized carrot
  • 4-5 green beans
  • ½ cup cut cauliflower
  • ½ cup green peas
  • 1 capsicum
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 4-5 cloves
  • 4 cut green chillies
  • 2 sticks of cinnamon
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 tsp cut ginger
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic
  • ½ tsp red chilly powder
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 grated coconut
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds / khuskhus
  • 5-6 cashew nuts
  • 1 tomato
  • Method

  • Peel and cut potatoes, carrots, beans, cauliflower, green peas, capsicum and wash them.

  • Heat the oil; add cinnamon, cloves, cut green chillies, ginger, garlic, cut onion. Add this batter to the cut vegetables mentioned above.

  • Cover them for 6-7 minutes.

  • After this open the lid, add tomato, turmeric, red chilli powder.

  • Grind the grated coconut, khuskhus and cashew nuts, make a paste of it and add it to the batter.

  • Sprinkle cut coriander leaves and cover it up.

  • –It has to be served with iddiyapam, appam and panihaaram.
