GujratiKadi – Recipe shared by Saroj Ben

Ingredients

  • 250 grams curd
  • 1 tbsp rice flour
  • 1 tsp Bengal gram flour / besan
  • 2 cups of water
  • For Seasoning:

  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • ½ tsp mustard oil
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • Pinch of asafoetida / hing
  • 2 cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 green chilly
  • 4 sticks of curry leaves
  • ½ tsp sugar or jaggery
  • Salt to taste
  • Method

  • In a mixer, blend curd, besan, rice flour and water.

  • Heat the ghee in a vessel, first splutter mustard seeds and cumin seeds, add cloves and cinnamon, curry leaves and green chillies, add the blended liquid to it, add sugar and salt, cook for five minutes.
