Dosa

Ingredients

1 cup par boiled rice

2 cups raw rice

1 cup black gram dal / uraddal

½ cup Split Bengal gram dal / chana dal

1 tsp fenugreek seeds / methi seeds

Method:

Wash all the ingredients and soak together with water overnight so as to ferment.

Drain and grind with 1 ½ cup of water to make a fine batter.

Before making the dosa, add 1 spoon of salt.

Keep the griddle / tava over medium heat, when hot; sprinkle a little water it should sizzle.

Smear griddle / tava with oil.

Pour a ladle of batter in the center of the griddle / tava, spread with the back of the ladle to form a thin round shape.

Wait for a minute when the top appears well cooked, dosa can be lifted easily with the spatula and flipped around.

Sprinkle oil around the dosa and all over the top.

Allow it to turn a golden colour and remove with a spatula.
