Dahi Aloo

Dahi Aloo ….from the kitchen of Anju Poddar

To serve 6

Ingredients :

1/2 kg potatoes
1 cup curd
1 tsp besan
1 tbsp cut fresh dhaniya leaves
1/2 tsp garam masala
Salt to taste

For Baghaar/ Tampering :

1/2 tsp jeera
2 slit green chillies
1 tsp fine cut ginger
1 pinch hing
2 tsp kasthuri methi
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp haldii powder
1/2 tsp sugar

How to make:

Boil and peel potatoes. Cut into 1 inch cubes.

Mash about 2 small pieces of boiled potatoes. Mix it in curd. To this add1 tsp besan,1 cup water. Blend it.

Baghaar :

Heat 1 tbsp oil. Add jeera, green chillies, fine cut ginger, hing, kasthuri methi.
Add cut potatoes, 1/2 tsp chilli + haldi powder.
Add 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp sugar .
Add the curd preparation and keep on stirring till the gravy comes to a boil. After this, add dhaniya leaves and garam masala.

Note: Goes well with Matar ki poori.
If you are making this curry for vrat/ fast… do not put haldi and besan.
