Dabal Ka Meetha – From the kitchen of Mumtaz Pasha

Ingredients

  • 1 small loaf bread
  • Dalda or Ghee for frying
  • ½ kg sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ liter milk
  • ¼ kg khova
  • Saffron
  • Nutmeg
  • Yellow colour
  • Almonds or cashew
  • Method

  • Slice the bread, remove crusts, cut into triangles and lightly fry in Ghee.

  • Arrange in a flat vessel and pour milk on top.

  • Put sugar and water in a pan; stir well till sugar is dissolved. Bring to a boil remove from heat mix khova, saffron, nutmeg and colour to it, and pour on the bread slices.

  • Simmer for 5 minutes, serve sprinkled with sliced almonds or cashew.
