To serve 6

500 gms Chola
Boiled tea leaf decoction
1 Cinnamon stick
2 Cardamom
4 Cloves
2 bay leaves
500 gms Onion
One pod Garlic
200 gms Dry anar dana
2 tsp Red chili
2 tsp Dhaniya powder
2 tsp Badshah chola masala

For tadka
Oil
1 tsp Red chilli powder
Heeng
Salt

1. Soak the chola for at least 6 hours, and wash
2. Add salt, boiled tea leaves decoction (for colour), cinnamon, cloves
3. In a pressure cooker put cups of water. Add 2tsps of tea leaves, boil till water changes colour. Strain the tea leaves out and use this water for boiling the chola. This adds colour to the curry
4. Add water, and pressure cook for 8-10 whistles
5. In a pan, heat the oil.
6. Soak anar Dana for half an hour. Grind, and keep aside
7. Add finely cut onion and garlic (or paste), with the Anar Dana paste, salt, and spices in a pan, and roast until fragrant
8. Add boiled chola, and cook for 10 minutes
9. In a small kadai, add 2-3 spoons of oil, put it on the flame, add heeng and red chili powder add 2 tsp water take and then add the mixture to the gravy for colour
