To serve 4 Persons

Ingredients

  • 250gms freshly broken Chenna
  • 2 tbsp Raw Mango Juliennes
  • 1 inch finely cut ginger
  • 2 pieces finely cut deseeded green chillies
  • 1tsp Sugar
  • One tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 tbsps finely cut coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 8 freshly cut turmeric plant lesves( if unable to source , substitute with banana leaves)
  • Tooth picks
  • Method

  • In freshly broken chenna mix ginger , green chillies, mango juliennes ,corriender leaves ,sugar and salt to taste

  • Soak mustard seeds for 30 mins and grind them to a paste

  • Mix this to crumbled chenna.

  • Cut turmeric leaves into 8 six inch squares .
  • Spoon chenna equally into each of the leaf squares
  • Flatten chenna into a rectangle shape and fold the leaf ends to form s cover. Pin the cover with the tooth pick
  • Steam these folded squares in a steamer for 10 to 15 mins.
  • Serve hot
  • If necessary reheating may done on an oiled tava .
