Black dal
From the kitchen of Lata More
To serve six

500 gms Chhilka urad dal
1 Bay leaves
1 Cinnamon stick
2 Cloves
6 Onion paste
10 cloves Garlic
4 Tomato
1 tbsp Amul full cream
1 Red chili powder
2 Kitchen king
1 garam masala
Salt

1. Soak the dal for at least 5-6 hours, and rinse well
2. Put in a cooker, with bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves, and some water for 5-6 whistles
3. In a pan, heat the ghee, add onion and garlic paste, and fry. To this, add puréed tomato, full cream, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt to taste
4. Add the pressure cooker dal to this, and simmer for 10 minutes
