Receipe of Bisibele Bhath from Aruna’s kitchen
To serve 12 Persons
Ingredients
250 gms Tur Daal
200 gms Fine Rice
Tamrind (large lemon size)Extract
Salt
Masala Powder:
15 Red Chillies
2 tbsp whole Dhania seeds
2 tbsp Bengalgram Daal
3 tbsp Dessicated Coconut
11/2 tbsp Urad Daal
1/2tsp Methi Seeds
4 to 6 Marathi Mogh or 3 Lavang
Roast above in a few drops of oil separately cool powder store
Vegetables:
2 Potatoes
2 Carrots
100 gms Beans
2 Drumsticks
4 to 6 small Brinjals
Small piece of White Pumpkin
10 to 12 sambar onions
Fresh Kothmir/ Coriander
Curry leaves
6 to 8 green chillies
6 red chillies
Cut them in equall size
Seasoning:
Ghee
Hingh
Mustard seeds
Red & Green Chillies
Curry Leaves
Method
Boil Dal keep aside
Soak rice boil 3/4 strain keep aside
In a big vessel, season all the vegetables cook well then add Daal
let the vegetables cook half done,add salt, Tamrind extract and finally the Masala powder, mixed separately in little water as not to form lumps in the Daal.
Keep on medium flame stirring all the time
Finally add the boiled rice and plenty of chopped Kothmir/coriander leaves …cook for 10 minutes more till every thing comes together.
Add ghee on top
Serve hot with Appalams and Potato
