Beerakai /Turai Pachadi – Recipe shared by Prema Badiga

To serve 6 persons

Ingredients

  • 400 gms Beerakai /Turai
  • 4 green chillies
  • 4 dried red chillies
  • 1 tsp Urad Daal
  • 1 tsp white Til
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds /Jeera
  • 4/5 cloves Garlic
  • 20 grms Tamrind deseeded
  • 1 tbsp oil for tampering
  • 1 tbsp oil for turai
  • salt
  • Method

  • Lightly scrape the Turai and cut in big pieces.

  • Heat the oil roast the Urad daal add Jeera ,Garlic,Til, broken red and green chillies

  • Heat the oil and cook turai for 2 minutes add imli & Salt.

  • First grind the chilli n masala fine then add Turai and coresly grind.

  • Your Pachadi is ready.

  • Note: Tastes good served with white rice dosa.
    Sambhar kheera /kachar /Dosakai Pachadi is made the same way…instead of Turai put one big yellow skin kachar and 4 big tomatoes omit Til rest is the same
