Tahiri – Rice dish from Bihar – from the kitchen of Veena Modi

To serve 4

Ingredients :

1 cup basmati rice ( lal qila)
2 dried red chillies
2 bay leaves
1 pinch hing
1/2 cup fresh green peas
1 cup cauliflower florets
salt ro taste
1 tsp ghee

Method :
Soak the rice in 2 cups of water for 15 mins.

In a pan, heat ghee, add red chillies, bay leaves, hing, cauliflower florets , peas and salt to taste.

Mix will, cook for3/4 minutes .

Add soaked rice and water and cook on medium flame for 15 – 20 mins .

Serve with Mangochi
